Nice hotel with an air conditioning issue

Very nice hotel in the south of Munich in a quiet area. Nice rooms, clean, friendly staff and an excellent Italian restaurant (Cesar’s) in the hotel. However, there was a real issue with the temperature in the sleeping rooms. It was unusually warm for Munich in April and the room was being heated (!) via a central heating system. Per the staff this heating could not be turned off. There is a switch for air conditioning in the room but there is no real air conditioning- nothing worked. The common areas as the lobby and breakfast room had a pleasant temperature in contrast to the sleeping rooms - it applied to all rooms and many guests were complaining. The hotel was built in 2016 so this was very surprising. I suggest that the hotel invests into a modern ventilation, air conditioning and heating system. Also the summers in Germany are getting hotter due to climate change so also a modern ventilation and air conditioning system will be important.

I stayed for 3 nights 27-30 Nov , My sleep of 3 nights was spoiled due to problems in heating system in the air conditioner of the hotel. We checked in late night so managed first night anyhow, next morning I informed reception to solve the problem but it was not solved when I came back at hotel 2nd night, I called the reception the guy there was very rude, said he cannot do anything till morning, I asked to change my room then he replied that the heating system was down in whole hotel and technician will come next day only. Next day I went to the reception to talk about this problem , they didn’t care about my sleep during two terrible nights and was saying that it may happens anywhere in the world . I complained to my travel agency , the hotel apologized only after receiving their call . But by saying sorry cannot compensate my terrible sleep. I was expecting that they have solved the problem in third night . That time heating was working but not that good, we managed to sleep but again the heating system stopped working at midnight. It was useless to complain then again because they don’t have technician working at night. It was my worst experience as staying in hotel so far in my lifetime. The hotel heating system is not good , they don’t have backup for any technical failure in heating system, and they don’t have technician to work at night to solve the issue at night . They care about technician’s sleep who cannot work at night but don’t care about their guests. This is the reason I strongly not recommend to choose this hotel because Munich weather is very cold and you may also have terrible experience like me mattress are extreme soft which is not considered as comfortable.

We booked a room for Octoberfest. Paid a little too much in my opinion €240, booked 2/3 months before. I found spiders and hair in the bathroom. Furthermore, with the broken air conditioning, we were dead from the heat. The cushions are the €3 ones from Ikea that are soft to the point of skidding. Breakfast wasn't included either, we would have had to pay another €15 each.

The worst experience I had in Munich. NO TV-not working, NO WARM WATER-tryin to fix? NoEXTRA PILLOWS in a hotel. Go and stay in a cheap hostel you can find all of these. Location is another disaster; just behind a huge construction area; you won't believe those noise are real! In efficient smiles from receptionist, they're answering calls average after an hour! Beds are from second war I guess. Pillows are smelling like never washed before, and they're like thin tissue papers. You're waking up with a back pain because the bed is having a hole and taking you in it when you lay down. In efficient just noisy AC. I never had a bad night in an hotel like that. Don't think this is cheap, I would pay double if I did the organization. So another notification if someone is organing the trip warn them about NO PALLADIUM PLEASE!!!

Smart modern hotel situated in the Munich suburbs. Check in was prompt and helpful. Excellent advice provided on local transport links. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and well maintained. The aircon worked well. Breakfast room was large and the team consistently helpful. Choice was good. The hotel has a pleasant restaurant with outside seating area. The U3 train station is 5 minutes level walk from the hotel with a regular direct service. Marienplatz station is approximately 20 travel time to access central Munich. This is a pleasant hotel for visiting Munich
